Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a third-grade teacher, I have the privilege of working with 24 incredible students who inspire me every single day. Despite facing significant challenge, many stemming from poverty and trauma, my students arrive each morning with open hearts and an eagerness to learn. They are resilient, hardworking, and determined to succeed. They will need the tools to help them reach their full potential this coming school year.
For the 2025–2026 school year, I am requesting essential classroom supplies that will create a strong foundation for learning.
Items like pencils, markers, crayons, and glue sticks may seem small, but they are vital to daily instruction and creativity. These tools empower students to express themselves through writing, build fine motor skills, and fully engage in hands-on projects that bring our lessons to life.
In addition, seat pockets and storage bins will help us stay organized and reduce distractions. With limited storage space in our classroom, these materials will ensure that each student has a personal, accessible spot for their supplies—fostering independence and responsibility. A tidy, structured learning environment is key to helping students focus, especially those who thrive on consistency and routine due to the challenges they face outside of school.
Every item in this project has a purpose: to remove barriers and create opportunities. They should not have to worry about whether there’s a pencil to write with or a place to keep their things. They should focus on learning!
