Strong Minds and Strong Bodies Through Yoga

Help me give my students the opportunity to be able to practice mindfulness and yoga as part of their school day!

My Project

Studies have found that the effects of practicing mindfulness and yoga go beyond physical fitness and also allow kids to build confidence and awareness inside and outside the classroom. Children who do yoga consistently start to realize that they are strong and then are able to take that strength, confidence, acceptance, and compassion out into the world!

A growing body of research has also shown that yoga can improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behavior, and can even reduce anxiety and stress in children.

Yoga helps children manage their anxiety by improving their emotional regulation. Being able to offer the opportunity for the children at our school to practice mindfulness strategies and yoga poses as part of their school day is a tremendous way to support mental health and physical health of the children at our school!

This set of yoga supplies is big enough to be shared among all the elementary classrooms at our school and also do be able to do an activity with a full class at a time if desired!
