I am a retired assistant principal returning to teach kindergarten PE at 3 schools with limited resources in small classroom spaces.
When I interviewed for the job, I told one of the principals that I wanted to help students learn "how to do school".
Several students are missing some very basic body movements and lack self-control.
Spots markers allow for students to have a "home base" and make great targets and landing spaces. Beanbags can be used for several activities including tossing and catching, and are helpful with learning balancing skills. The gross motor hoops also can be used for a variety of activities, especially jumping and landing skills. They can also be used in helping teach positional words (in, around, in front of, behind, left, right, etc.).
Hopefully, through my intentional planning with our youngest population, I can grow them physically and personally, and help them to be successful in the classroom as well!
