Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students this year range in age from 5-11. In our community, our students often come from stressful households or deal with more levels of stress than many adults.
What better way to normalize the prioritization of mental health than to gift every student with a calming strip?
Each student can place one on their chromebooks, on their desks, and even on a notebook. Further, they can earn the chance to bring some extras home by exhibiting positive behavior throughout the school year.
This is a small way to make mental health fun and relatable.
