This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A tennis stringing machine would be a game-changer for our youth sports and wellness program. By having access to our own machine, we can maintain racquets more consistently, reduce long-term equipment costs, and most importantly, increase access to quality gear for all our students—regardless of their financial circumstances.

String tension directly impacts performance, control, and injury prevention.

Many of our students use older, donated racquets that often need restringing. Without a machine, we're limited in how quickly or affordably we can get racquets back in play. A stringing machine allows us to offer fast, on-site stringing for students, ensuring they’re using safe and functional equipment at all times.

This tool also creates learning opportunities. We plan to teach students how to string racquets themselves—building technical skills, ownership, and confidence. For our program, which blends fitness, movement education, and personal development, this hands-on component adds depth and real-world value.

Our goal is to remove barriers that prevent kids from fully participating and excelling in racquet sports. A stringing machine helps level the playing field, keeps our athletes equipped and empowered, and supports our broader mission: to educate through movement, play, and lifelong wellness.
