My Project
I work at an amazing Montessori school, teaching Band and Orchestra to the students in grades 4 - 8. Because I teach the older grade levels, I only have large-sized instruments in my school's inventory to give the students. I feel like the students who are younger than 4th grade are missing out on the opportunity to learn an instrument simply because they are too small to play the instruments that I can give them. Several students are interested in learning how to play the bass but unfortunately we don't own a bass small enough to fit them.
Adding approriately-sized instruments to the school's inventory would finally give the younger students the opportunity to participate in Orchestra.
I am looking to purchase some 1/4 sized string basses for the elementary students to be able to use.
