My Project

Students learn through story and the books listed in this project provide relatable examples of making new friends, learning to share, working through conflict, persevering when tasks are hard, being assertive, and the power of kindness. These books also have a diverse array of characters so all students can see themselves in these stories.

As students develop social and emotional skills, they need opportunities to express their own feelings and be able to recognize those of others.

The visual tools in this project will provide pictures and examples that will be around our classroom.

We will use the conversation dice, kindness chips, and emotion cards as hands-on and engaging ways to relate to others.

Students will be able to use the rocker chairs, threading tools, and chair yoga poses as ways to stay regulated throughout the day, helping them be calm and kind classmates.
