My Students
My kindergarten students are eager learners who love hands-on activities that help them grow and develop important skills.
Many of my students are newcomers adjusting to a new language and school environment, while others are working on strengthening their fine motor skills for future writing success. In our classroom, we strive to create an engaging, play-based learning environment that supports all learners.
My Project
Playdough is more than just fun—it’s a powerful tool for developing fine motor strength, creativity, and hand-eye coordination! I am requesting a variety of playdough tools, including shape cutters, rollers, molds, and textured stamps, to give my students engaging, hands-on ways to strengthen their fingers and hands. These materials will allow my students to pinch, roll, squeeze, and manipulate playdough, which builds the muscle control they need for writing, cutting, and other essential classroom tasks.
With these playdough tools, my students will have the opportunity to explore textures, shapes, and patterns while building their fine motor skills. Whether they are pressing letters into the dough, using rollers to create designs, or simply strengthening their hand muscles, these materials will provide engaging, open-ended learning experiences that foster creativity and growth.
The Impact
By funding this project, you will be giving my students the tools they need to develop the hand strength necessary for early writing and cutting skills. Many of my students need additional support in this area, and these materials will provide daily opportunities for skill-building through play.
