My Students
My students are a diverse group of students from the heart of Bed-Stuy Brooklyn growing up in low income families. My students are creative, thoughtful innovative and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, and my students are becoming enthusiastic learners.
In the classroom we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
Transforming the learning relationships between students, families, and teachers in my classroom is a way for me to setup success for every student.
PowerMyLearning will enable us educators to collaborate with families and colleagues to design joyful, engaging learning experiences.
Being able to incorporate family engagement in the class will help to drive student mastery of the curriculum and social-emotional learning.
In the day of technology this program will benefit all students where my students will be able to teach their family about what they learned in class by doing a collaborative learning activity at home. Using this program will give me reports on how to better meet students’ academic and social-emotional needs.
What better way to bridge learning. Research believes that students are most successful when supported by a triangle of strong learning relationships between students, teachers, and families.
