Strength in Learning Differences and the Power of Collaboration
Help me give my students a copy of “Lumber-jackula,” by Mat Heagerty, to support our One School One Book event, because our funding was cut and it has been a challenge to order books for our event.

My Project
Our 2025 One School One Book author visit focuses on the graphic novel "Lumberjackula" by Mat Heagerty. This book focuses on strengths in learning differences and the power of collaboration.
Our middle school students love graphic novels, and I know they will enjoy this one!
Graphic novels are a gateway to building better reading skills for reluctant readers. Struggling readers will often pick up a graphic novel because the pictures and visuals are less intimidating than a typical book. Students who read graphic novels find reading fun and begin to read more for enjoyment. I know this event will be meaningful and engaging for our students, helping them learn that reading can be enjoyable!
