Strength and Wellness through Dance Education

Help me give my students the chance to build stability and strong healthy bodies! These foam rollers and therabands will help us be the healthiest and best we can be as we dance and learn.

My Project

In our public school Dance program, I teach 500 inner city students to love school, learning, wellness, dance and the arts. I am hoping to bring them some much needed physical items to support their physical health and development.

The project includes therabands that our public school dance program can use to develop students' muscle tone, balance buckets for coordination, and foam rollers to roll out stressed and tired muscles.

When I teach students with Autism, these items will help them with necessary motor development. For typical and gifted inner city students, access to these items would provide necessary opportunities for physical development, stress release, and more.

Overall, our dance program teaches students that they can express themselves through the arts. We have the best attendance district wide, and we know that's because students want to come to this school where their needs and the passion for the arts carries us all through. I hope you will support this project and help develop this program even further.
