Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After the COVID 19 years our students are isolated and alone it is important to focus on building their confidence and strength. This projects works with students health through weight training and powerlifting. Students will engage in a fitness and weightlifting program learning to safely use barbell exercises to improve physical health. Moreover, students will learn to manage failure ( failed lifts), gain confidence through improving their max lifts, and work with team mates. Safety equipments, such as chalk, lifting belts, and max lift tracking using notebooks are needed to develop the students personal program.
Students will develop self confidence along with physical strength, while learning about nutrition and physical fitness.
Body image and nutrition are important focuses of this program by incorporating barbell lifting students will learn how proper nutrition effects athletic performance and how to refocus the not on outward appearance but on self achievement.
