My Students
Our students involved in eSports are enjoying their second season at our school. This entire group has found a sense of teamwork and belonging as they discover what it takes to work with one another and win matches against other teams.
Some students are athletes participating in other sports, but where our program shines is allowing those who do not enjoy traditional sports to have an opportunity for scholarships and career opportunities in the gaming industry.
They are always looking for the next thing that will give them a competitive edge!
My Project
This year our eSports team has expanded by adding multiple roles within the program. One of these roles is that of shoutcaster. A shoutcaster provides commentary over a live-streamed eSports event. These students are in charge of keeping the viewer engaged by providing excitement and information as the match progresses.
Our current streaming PC is not able to keep up with our demands.
We have created motion graphics that overlay during our streaming productions that seem to lag or become choppy as they play. The PC also gets very hot as we are pushing it to its limits.
A new streaming PC would allow my shoutcasters to provide a smooth and professional stream benefiting our viewers.
