I teach in a rural school district where my students are like my own children! You get to build those relationships they need and then teach them.

My Project
Having these educational materials for my students, will help them succeed. These educational materials include math manipulatives where students are able to get their hands on the addition/subtraction problems they are working on. The materials include a digital/analog clock where they will be able to tell the difference between the two. My students will visually see and feel what they are doing in math lessons. My students will also be able to have hands-on literacy materials. These will include alphabet resources so they will be able to distinguish letters, matching letters, and then making sight words/spelling words.
Students need hands-on and engaging materials to enhance their learning!
I have also included some stools for my classroom. I have noticed over these past few years due to COVID, students are not able to sit in a regular seats like they have in the past. They are always ready for the next thing and constantly need to be doing something. I believe these stools will help my students who are struggling to stay in a regular chair all day, be able to learn.
The majority of children are very hands-on and these materials will help further their education! I believe this stems a lot from Covid because we had to shut down for so many months and those students have lost that dire need of learning. I believe children need more time to explore and be hands-on in the classroom rather than constantly be pushed with papers. These math, literacy, and flexible seats will help my students better grasp the lessons I teach because it will be hands-on and engaging.
