This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I enjoy watching my students come into the classroom ecstatic and ready to try new projects each week. This December, we are doing a Winter Wonderland group project. I work with over 320 students from 5th-8th grade in a high poverty school district. We have limited learning supplies at our school including art supplies. Students won’t be able to maximize their creativity and imagination with these limitations. With this project, they are able to engage, use their imagination, socialize, communicate, plan, and strategize in a powerful way. I strive to provide as many new experiences as possible, and this is an exciting one!
Your donation would not only help enhance student’s socialization, communication, and strategic thinking skills, but it will also encourage their enthusiasm for new experiences in an enriching educational environment.
Using paint, tissue paper, cotton balls, google eyes, craft cutters, and construction paper will allow them to combine a variety of different supplies and art techniques within their project. The dry-erase markers will help them plan and strategize their ideas on the board quickly and efficiently. Also, we are in need of a new pencil sharpener, our current one is ready to retire. Expanding their options and variety can contribute to further growth, allowing them to express themselves uniquely while positively empowering them in their learning journey. Thank you!
