Strategic Minds at Play: Games That Build Thinking Skills

Help me give my students a variety of strategy and problem solving games to strengthen and exercise their thinking skills!

My Project

My students are curious, creative, and eager to learn! They thrive when they’re challenged to think critically, plan ahead, and work together — and that’s exactly what strategy games help them do. With your support, I want to bring a collection of engaging strategy games into our classroom. These games will help my students strengthen important skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, perseverance, and teamwork — all while having fun!

Games like Battleship, Genius Square, Kanoodle, Checkers, Gravity Maze, Guess Who, and Connect 4 will give students meaningful practice in planning moves, thinking ahead, and considering consequences.

As they play, they’ll build resilience, learn from mistakes, and discover new ways to approach challenges.

These games will also support social development by encouraging students to take turns, share ideas, and communicate respectfully with peers. Whether played during centers, small groups, or indoor recess, these games will spark excitement for learning and build important life skills.
