This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am requesting an electric pencil sharpener. The students lose instructional time when they have to re-sharpen their pencils throughout the day. The sharpener from last year needs to be replaced.

I teach 25 second graders in a self-contained classroom.

My students attend a Charter School in Texas. We are a Title 1 School and all of the students receive free lunch. My students are very bright and love to read. They love to receive new materials for the classroom.

My Project

The iPoint electric sharpener will allow us to sharpen more pencils at the end of the day. The sharpener recognizes when the pencil is fully sharpened and shuts itself off. This will help keep the pencil leads from breaking so frequently. The students are using stubby crayons at this time of year. The Elmer sharpener will make the crayon tips look new again.

Our school does not have the budget to supply each classroom with electric pencil and crayon sharpeners.
