The faculty at MAST@FIU is committed to providing our students with all the materials they need to have a successful academic experience while enrolled here.
Students and faculty have been utilizing the classroom printer for their projects, assignments, and assessments.
However, the classroom is in dire need of toner refills for the printer we graciously received through this organization last academic year. The Wi-Fi capability of the printer makes access easy, and many students print directly from their phones.
Expo™ dry erase markers not only provide a means for teachers to share content with their students, but they also allow students to collaborate in a whole group setting on large white boards, and also in smaller groups whether for peer tutoring or personal problem solving during computer-based assessments.
The classroom iPad is in need of a new charger. The iPad offers a convenient and efficient way of grading assignments. There is no need to download the assignment, grade, and then upload to the drop box. With the iPad, grading can be done directly in the assignment drop box.
Pens are still useful in the classroom. They provide an easy way to offer students immediate feedback on classwork.
Copy paper is essential to our classroom practice. Students are frequently assigned a paper-based project, or are required to take paper-based assessments, especially in an Advanced Placement (AP) class. I also provide individualized assessments and practice worksheets for students in my classroom.
