Storyworks Works

Help me give my students high-interest, engaging, and various genres of reading materials. Storyworks magazines provides students with high-interest and rigorous reading materials that are grade level appropriate.

My Project

These magazines will enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create for our fifth graders. My classroom is a place that the students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, at the small group table, and they read independently! Every student book and magazine whether it is a digital copy or hard copy that is placed in my library or digital library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. This subscription has been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read current events and titles just like some of these in the magazines.

With this new Storyworks subscription, my students will be able to choose from a variety of current events that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level and engage in activities to extend their learning.

They will also be able to choose articles that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these articles and stories that Storyworks offers will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My 5th grade students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
