How do we prepare our kids for the future?

We need to educate them about the world around them because they will be the ones leading our world in years to come.

I have a variety of student reading abilities and they are all coming from a variety of cultural backgrounds and socio-economic status'. My school and classroom is a place that encourages students to think critically and be problem solvers without the fear of taking a risk and making a mistake.

My Project

Scholastic storyworks magazines will help my students practice the reading skills they need to grow and be successful throughout the year and into the future. Each magazine includes fictional stories, non-fiction articles and a drama passage that are related to specific topics that align with the grade level curriculum. Students will learn about current events and topics and they will be able to use the information in these magazines to help them create writing that is deeper and more meaningful. Adding these resources to the classroom will enrich student learning and keep them excited about what is coming up next.
