Storyworks Magazines Open Worlds of Reading Opportunities for Reluctant Readers
Help me give my students opportunities to become more engaged in reading and more excited to dive deep into their writing abilities with a subscription of Storyworks Magazine. They love the current/high interest articles found in the magazine.

My Project
For the past few years, I have been blessed with the funding to purchase a class set of Storyworks Magazines for my fourth grade students. Unfortunately, the funds for the purchase of the magazine is no longer available. My students absolutely love these magazines for a variety of reasons. The articles are highly engaging, relevant to the interests of my students and they are perfect for addressing ELA teaching standards. The magazine does a wonderful job of incorporating multiple genres from historical fiction, drama and biography, as well as, paired texts for students to anazlyze. The debates found in the magazine have sparked some amazing conversations in my classroom and have also inspired my students to address important issues that they are faced with everyday such as "Should Screentime be Limited?". The Storyworks Magazine subscription also provides teachers with an enormous amount of resources that perfectly align with content standards to accompany instruction. Not only has this magazine helped improve my students skills as readers and writers, it is also helping to build lifelong readers and writers with purpose.
