My Students

Albert Einstein once said, "It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken the joy in creative expression and knowledge."

I teach ten second-graders and eleven third-graders who come from various cultural backgrounds and experiences.

Our classroom community is very similar to a family, built with respect, care and a passion for​ learning. From the beginning of the year, we learn that by taking risks in our learning helps us grow and to use a growth mindset.

My school does not receive extra funding to bring amazing resources into the classroom, which is why I'm seeking for projects to help enrich the lives of my students for years to come.

My Project

I have used StoryWorks Jr Magazines in my classroom for the past three years and I have seen students engaged and interested in what they read. The stories that StoryWorks Jr includes in their magazine are fun and tailor to students desire. I use these magazines to help expand my students backgrounds, develop a richer vocabulary and deepen their comprehension skills. This subscription will also give me a digital copy that opens the doors to digital learning for my students and me by providing recording sheets, videos and vocabulary PowerPoints. I am excited to provide these to next year's students!
