Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have been working in this school for 14 years now and I couldn’t be happier. Watching my students grow and become independent learners has been a privilege. My students come from different backgrounds but they all have one thing in common....the passion to learn and become better every day.
For the 2020-2021 school year, I would like for my students to develop a deeper passion for learning, especially during these tough times.
Many of my students this year will be learning in person or from a distance and I would love to provide them with a back-to-school supply bag with all the essentials they will need this year to make it a successful one. I have noticed that my students have limited resources at home and I would like to provide my students with materials they will need, whether at home or in school.
My Project
For the 2021-2022 school year, I would like for my students to develop a deeper passion for learning, especially during these tough times. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of authentic reading and writing. My students have been learning virtually for a year and a half. This year will be their first time back to school since the pandemic started. I would like to provide them with meaningful and engaging reading and writing lessons and I know that StoryWorks magazine will allow me to do so. Each student will have their own copy which will allow them to share it with their families.
