My Students
The students in my class are curious and eager-to-learn young individuals. Majority of my students are English language learners, and about a third of my class consists of students with various special needs or disabilities, such as learning disability, autism, and speech or language impairment.
To provide best instruction and meet my students at their current level of performance I often need to incorporate lots of visuals, hands-on activities, and various management tools.
This school year especially, my students will need various take-home supplies and materials to support their learning at home as well as materials to utilize wherever they are in the school building.
Each student in my classroom is a unique learner; together, however, my students make up a great group of young learners who, I hope, would continue their learning journey and grow up to be well-rounded individuals.
My Project
For the past few years my students and I were fortunate enough to receive generous contributions for Storyworks subscription from our wonderful donors on DonorsChoose. The subscription to Storyworks allowed my students to get a chance to explore articles, short stories, and poems that go along with digital access to the same material and much more. This year the subscription to Storyworks is especially necessary since it offers digital access to all printed material, audio option that is particularly beneficial to English Language Learners and students with special needs, and activities on various levels to ensure that all students are engaged in educationally appropriate tasks. Taking into consideration the blended model of learning this school year, the subscription to Storyworks magazine would deliver the engaging, differentiated, and accessible anytime and anywhere opportunity to immerse in reading.
