My Students
I work in a New York City Title I middle school where every student receives free lunch. It is a great school where some students travel from far away to be able to attend. My students are special education students, most of whom are English Language Learners. They are great kids who love to learn. My students are hardworking, curious learners who need access to various texts that will capture their interest and prepare them.
My Project
Storyworks is a magazine subscription that empowers every student to become a confident, successful reader with unforgettable texts across genres and rich ELA activities for skill mastery. Lessons include engaging multi-genre texts. As a teacher, I will build knowledge and personalize learning with rich multimedia teaching tools that reach every reader. This magazine will also inspire kids to love reading and learning with resources that reflect their lives, interests, and identities. With each text, students will be transported into a world of joyful learning with a fascinating story, knowledge-building videos, and rich skill-building activity sheets.
