My Project

There’s something magical about watching a kindergartener act out a story—with puppets flying, characters swapping silly voices, and tiny hands making big ideas come to life. In my classroom, learning isn’t quiet or still—it’s joyful, wiggly, and full of imagination. That’s why these storytelling kits are perfect for us.

They’ll help my students visualize what they read, build comprehension, and connect new vocabulary to real, tangible objects—all while having fun.

Because when you’re five, learning through play isn’t a bonus—it’s the best and most effective way to grow.

But this project is about more than just fun. It’s about access. I teach an incredible group of children from beautifully diverse backgrounds. They are bright, curious, creative, and full of heart. What they sometimes lack is equal access to the kinds of high-quality learning materials that students in more resourced schools might receive without question.

These kits will help level that playing field. They'll give my students a chance to see themselves in the stories they tell, to share their voices confidently, and to feel the power of language and imagination. Because every child—no matter their zip code, background, or home language—deserves the same opportunities to learn, thrive, and shine.

They deserve joy. They deserve equity. And yes, they deserve storytelling kits that make reading feel like magic.
