Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic but often lack the motivation to work on their classwork. They also need support with English speaking and listening. Most are English learners and are struggling in their English Language Arts class.
My students come from a diverse school in a large city.
Part of the school is a magnet with students from all over the city. My students are comprised mainly of residential students from the local low-income neighborhood. Most are English learners, as well.
My Project
The students in the class play instructional games when done with their work. We need a clock to tell the time and date. Then students can monitor their gameplay and wrap up by the end of the class period.
The shelf organizer will bring some needed storage to our classroom.
We need more shelf storage space. The storytelling game will be played in class and then stored on the shelves. The students enjoy playing games as a reward and this storytelling game is a past student favorite.
