Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
High need community, fifth grade special education classroom in Chicago Public Schools.
My special education students have trouble writing stories. I introduced art into the lesson to provoke creativity and it went great! They were so proud of the stories they made and they illustrated their stories with such detail, which came across in their writing. However we are now out of art supplies and my kids need to be inspired by art once again.
If the students are given more art supplies their imagination and minds will grow. Providing them with art supplies will motivate them to write stories and become better writers. They are very visual learners and love hands on projects.
Your help will assure that my students imagination will become constructed on paper. Their imaginations will be able to be put down and paper and illustrated with the art supplies you provided.
