This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a low-income community and all receive free lunch. Despite all of the challenges that most of my students have to face, they show up daily and keep pushing forward to overcome barriers and become the best students they can be. My students are 4th grade diverse learners with learning and/or behavior difficulties. My students are eager to show their creativity and feel very proud to show their accomplishments.
My students are are energetic, creative, spontaneous and fun !
My Project
My students’ reading level is below their current 4th grade. They struggle with reading and need to have access to engaging stories leveled to their ability. As their special education teacher, I want them to feel successful readers and learners.A set of leveled readers will allow them to read and enjoy stories during their independent reading time.
They will have access to a variety of leveled books and it will be awesome to see them choosing stories that they will be able to read!
The bungee chairs will provide a comfy and relaxing seating to allow them to have a pleasant reading experience. These materials will help to maintain the positive learning environment that my students need and deserve.
