My students need a cabinet and pegboards for their ever-growing supply of lab materials.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Zaubi's classroom raised $487

My Students
Every day, my classroom is filled with students eager to learn. When my students walk into our class, they know that they should be prepared to learn by DOING. My students build electronic circuits and analyze the properties of those circuits using professional techniques.
Our classroom is a place of escape; a place where we can come to explore the world of electronics in ways normally inaccessible to my students.
A majority--almost 90%--of my students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches and more than 90% of my students are African American or Latino/a. Many of them cannot imagine working as a professional in a technology-oriented field. Yet, when I watch them at work, I see electricians, researchers, writers, electrical engineers, software programmers, and lab technicians. My hope for them is that through our work they, too, will begin to see themselves in those roles.
My Project
In the last two years, students at TechBoston have helped to grow and shape their one-of-a-kind electronics lab. They have enthusiastically demonstrated that they are excited to work with professional equipment, on quality projects, answering authentic questions. I have been constantly amazed by the way they rise to the occasion every time they walk into their electronics lab.
As the course continues to grow, the storage space needs to grow with it!
With a growing inventory of drills, saws, meters, and various electronic test equipment, we need to expand our storage capacity. The cabinet and set of pegboards described in this project will allow us to store our tools safely and economically. Help us get our equipment out of the dingy drawers they are currently in and out into the open for all to see what a proper lab looks like!
