Storage to Help My Writers Make Room for New Ideas

My students need a storage center and bookcase to help organize their writing notebooks, our classroom library, and supplies.

My Students

Our Title 1 urban middle school is home to almost 700 students. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and situations.

Many of our students don’t have experiences beyond their neighborhood, so opportunities to expose them to the world through literature and school are valuable.

Our kids are bright, resourceful, and full of energy. They are also natural problem solvers who are growing in their ability to make good choices. These middle schoolers have the potential to become leaders in our community and country. I appreciate your partnership to investing in their education and growth!

My Project

Ralph Waldeo Emerson wrote, "A good system shortens the road to the goal." This storage center and bookshelf will give my students a place to keep their writing notebooks, folders, and our classroom library. The storage center drawers will also give us space to keep classroom supplies. Overall, these storage systems will absolutely make the time we're together more efficient.

These new shelves will improve our organization, but they'll also improve how my students feel about our classroom.

Like many public schools, what we have is piecemeal and in need of repair. My students would be proud to have these beautiful shelves to keep their work. These bookshelves would be a HUGE step up from the milk crates we currently use!

An investment in our classroom is a gift that will impact my students' outlook. A child who takes pride in where he learns is definitely more motivated to learn!
