My Students
A typical day in my classroom is loud, energetic, and fast-paced. I teach two high school band courses, music appreciation, yearbook, and co-teach middle school band. My students work extremely hard to come together and develop their musical skills, both as soloists and as part of an ensemble.
My school is a rural Title I school in Oklahoma.
I am currently living my dream of teaching band at my alma mater. The band is known for a long-standing tradition of excellence, and I intend to continue that tradition for many years to come.
My Project
As the band continues to grow in size, we find ourselves in need of some better organization. We are lucky enough to have a supportive administration that provides additional space for us to store our equipment. With our most recent project's funding, we have new shelving coming in to help get our equipment up off the floor. The storage bins we are now requesting will allow us to keep items stored and protected on the shelves.
Good organization helps our entire band program operate more efficiently.
We want to be able to provide easier access to our band equipment whenever we need it without worrying about digging through piles to find it. The shoe storage bins will allow students to easily grab their shoes when getting ready for an event, and the other storage bins will help us keep items together and easily transportable.
