This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Team 307 consists of 1st and 2nd grade students. We live in a diverse, urban neighborhood. Many of the students are considered "at-risk." My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school ready to learn. They love to read, write, solve math problems, and conduct science experiments.

The students in Team 307 are thinkers!

They love to work together to solve problems and help each other. They give 100% every day, even if they had a tough time at home.

My Project

Unfortunately, due to heavy snow fall over the winter, there was a problem with the roof of our school, and the ceiling in our classroom collapsed, pouring water and debris over our beautiful classroom library and storage materials (we do not use desks). We had to get rid of many of our materials we use every day. These materials help our classroom run like a "well-oiled machine!"

We need our classroom back!

These materials will allow us to get back to our "normal" routine. We house our books, workbooks and notebooks in these storage items. We need a place for our learning tools!
