Help me give my students storage and classroom organization to promote smoother classroom operations and instill a sense of pride in students towards the learning environment with an addition of classroom tools to encourage artistic challenges.
As a high school Leadership teacher at a Title I public school, I believe that students come first.
As adults in a young person's life, we can help develop leadership, and stress the importance of giving back to our community.
The items I am requesting will help organize our room, making it more easily accessible to students. This will provide them with better ways to utilize supplies. This helps to make the classroom environment a more functioning space.
We are also in need of a small desk to utilize a space to begin our new adventure in taking photos and beginning a monthly school bulletin board entitled "A Month In Review". We will be printing photos and interviewing students, so the Kodak printer will be used for this project.
My students are special because their creativity thrives when given artistically challenging opportunities and are deserving of an art space that helps foster their creativity while taking ownership in our community, and be proactive to make it a better place.
My students participate numerous service learning projects which include:
Chemo Buddies - providing "first day" hand crafted bags and homemade cards to chemotherapy patients as well as no-sew tie blankets.
Empty Bowls - our students create many a one-of-a-kind handmade bowls used for our schools fundraiser for the weekend backpack program.
Kindness Rock Garden - we prepare rocks monthly for the rock garden downtown.
Despite the obstacles that many of them have at home, my students try to come to school mentally prepared to learn. They absolutely LOVE being involved in my "Kindness Crew". We try to do random acts of kindness monthly.
Our goal is to have storage and classroom organization to help make the classroom run more smoothly and allow the students to have more pride in the space.
