My Students
Imagine walking into kindergarten without any preparation. No interaction with other kids, classrooms or teachers. Scary, huh? My classroom helps prepare students so they do not have to be overwhelmed in a new environment. I help these students form their basic and fundamental skills before jumping into the big world of general education kindergarten.
The students in my classroom vary in skill levels, age, gender, and race.
However, they all share one thing in common. They are so excited to learn!
My Project
Every morning my students have individualized morning work. Their work is stored in personalized clear work bins and pertains to their IEP goals. After they complete their work they can then choose from a variety of blue bins. These blue bins are filled with manipulatives and activities that focus on pre-academic readiness, fine motor, and cognitive skills. Our current bins are cracked, chipped, stained, and have seen better days. Many students have a hard time focusing on their work if their bin is damaged. New bins would allow students to stop fixating on the blemished bins and focus on their morning work.
