This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students are from a school with limited resources. The Music program has no budget and yet we get through the year with donations. My students rehearse almost everyday after school to supplement the time they may have during class. Many of my students prefer to stay in the music room before class, during lunch and late after School.

My students are a mixture of 9th - 12th graders who are eager learners and members of the marching band, drumline, and the Beginning bands.

My Project

The music library room is one of the key areas that is in need of some major organization. This year has been so hard trying to find materials that my students need in the clutter filled room we call the music library room. My students would have to wait at times weeks until I was able to find the correct book they would need or the right tool to fix their broken instrument.

My students will finally be able to get the materials they need quicker and get to learning and producing music right away.

The new cabinet will kick start the organization process by helping me keep the student’s books and tools finally organized while using up the vertical space available and freeing some much needed horizontal space.
