My Students
My students come to school to learn. Flexibility is a big factor in the classroom. Students can focus more on learning if they have a flexible classroom. Flexible seating has helped my kids feel more at home within the classroom.
Many of the students in my classroom come from low-income households.
Like most kids, they just want to fell welcomed and loved. Flexible seating has helped us achieve a welcoming environment for students to work in. With flexible seating, comes less room for storage of books due to not having regular desks. Cubbies will allow my students to store their belongings. Some students can't afford to bring backpacks to school. Having cubbies will help these students have a place to store their things, just like the other students.
My Project
In my classroom, my students use flexible seating. In order to make our flexible seating more suitable for us, we need organization cubbies for students to keep their belongings.
Flexible seating allows students to work in a more comfortable environment.
Students feel more comfortable and at home, which allows them to focus more on their work. I'm wanting to include more flexible seating within the classroom, which means less regular desks. We have lots of flexible seating options within the classroom. Some of these options include yoga balls, yoga mats, moon chairs, crates, wobble stools, and so much more. My students are able to focus more on their work and less on whether they are sitting in an uncomfortable chair. All of these seating options are wonderful, but means no desks to store books in. This is where the storage cubbies are going to come in handy. Students will each get a cubby to keep their books, pencil bags, and other belongings in. This will help our classroom run smoothly and make more room for students to interact within the classroom.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
