This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I'm a special education teacher and I teach a PCC class that celebrates inclusion. My students spend their day with their typically developing peers. My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is accessing general education content in different ways. Many of my students are English language learners and have a range of communication disabilities and delays in language. In my class, we believe in positive behavior support and try our best to meet the needs of each individual child. We celebrate little wins together each day. The majority of my students come from low-income households, so your donations make a huge difference in their learning.
My Project
We are in need of a cubby unit for easy diaper/wipes storage in our classroom. With this unit compartment, we will be able to store supplies within easy reach of caregivers! The unit has 12 cubbies with tubs. It's perfect for keeping diaper-changing supplies right at our fingertips. With this unit we will be able to place individual clothing containers organized and within reach. This helps promote a healthier early learning environment and more importantly it not emit any harmful contaminants (VOCs) into the atmosphere. It also has fully rounded corners and edges for maximum safety. This will make the diaper changing experience easier for us and our students with special needs.
