It is nice to be organized, but that is a soft skill that must be taught. I want to start the school year off by supporting my new second graders with this skill. Second grade is that transition grade that students start to show their independence. I want to provide multiple spaces in the class that will allow them to keep up with books, personal items, and assignments while also keeping the class looking nice and neat.
Every thing in its place and a place for everything!
The baskets will give every child a place for their lunch and jackets.The chair pockets will provide additional storage at their seats because the desk shelf is narrow. The rolling cart will house daily supplies and additional materials for student use during small groups. The bins will be used for our every growing, classroom library.
