Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Special Education in a self contained classroom with students who are diagnosed with one or more disabilities: learning disabilities, ADHD, speech and language disorders. I teach in a large urban district in a high needs Title 1 school.
My district does not have any funds. My students did not get any new workbooks this year.
I noticed many of my students did not know the basic math facts by heart. Other students in the class were using their fingers for easy math problems. A coworker showed me what she was using - I copied a few of the sheets she had, but we need the kits.
My class needs Touchpoint math kits. This is a math system that teaches students basic math skills without using their fingers or being able to memorize. It works wonders for students with learning disabilities. This is a system that will really impact my students learning in a positive way.
Please choose to donate to this needed project. Allow my students to succeed in math. Students with learning disorders need many different strategies to learn, this kit will provide a winning strategy. This is a project that will show and prove its success with higher math grades, scores and self esteem for the students. Please give the gift of learning.
