it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were learning how to read? You are excited to pick up a book and browse through the pictures, but if you don't know all the words you may become discouraged. With the use of a CD player, students will be challenged as well as offer support.
My 32 first grade students are excited to grow as readers.
In a high-needs, overcrowded urban area, it is important that students are supported with differentiated instruction to fit their varied needs. The majority of my class is English language learners. With the support of technology, students will be able to listen and practice to reading in a varied number of ways that will be meaningful for them to learn how to read fluently.
My Project
With the use of a CD player, students that struggle will be able to listen and follow along to a recording when I am working with other students. This will provide students with an additional resource to be a better reader! By providing a device that will allow more than one student to use the CD player at once will allow for students to grow as independent learners. This will not only affect my current class of 32 students, but students years from now. The use of a CD player can be used not only in small group settings, but also in a whole-class setting. Music can leave a large impact on students.
