My Students
Do you remember learning to read? My young students continue to struggle with the expectations that are placed on them each year in reading. With your help we can help foster stronger readers in the early years beginning in Kindergarten by exposing them to books!
My school is a Title I Public School, which is Federally Subsidized.
Many of my students come from underprivileged homes, which often makes it difficult for parental support and involvement. My classroom is filled with the most energetic, eager five and six year old students that are ready and excited to learn. I feel that in the early school years, it is our job to make their learning fun and engaging as this is the beginning of their school career!
My Project
The Listening Center resources I am requesting will help sharpen my student’s listening comprehension, as well as practicing phonemic awareness and basic reading skills. With the individual portable cd players, my students will be able to find a quiet space in the classroom and enjoy a book independently. With your help, these resources will promote reading readiness, comprehension, and fluency. Help my students “Stop, Look, and LISTEN” to a good book!
Through your generous donation, my students will be exposed to books in a fun, exciting way.
With the early exposure to books, I have the hopes that my students will learn to enjoy reading books and this will help in the many years to come.
