My Students
Our state made the decision to close schools for the remainder of the school year and continue with virtual learning. My students are currently with their parents or family members depending on the type of work their families do. We have several students that have temporarily moved with family members because their parents/caregivers are considered essential employees in high risk areas such as hospitals.I did not anticipate being out of school for such a lengthy time so I brought home the basics such as my computer, flash drive, pens, and a notebook.
I need items that will allow me to continue engaging students in virtual teaching for as long as the Covid 19 has schools closed.
I am asking for materials that will help enhance virtual learning for a longer amount of time and books that can be read as read-alouds followed by discussion questions about the text.
My Project
I will be able to use the various books to encourage students to not give up and continue doing their best even if we are not in a classroom setting. We will read and discuss various books about growth mindset as well as continue our learning about individuals.
We may not be able to host our wax museum as we had planned but we can continue to learn about people that left their mark on the world!
I am hopeful that this will encourage them to see how people have overcome many different challenges to find success.
