This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 9th grade English at HHS in New Jersey, where the majority of my students are Hispanic, multilingual learners, and full of potential.

What I love most about them is their resilience, creativity, and eagerness to grow when given the right tools.

These notebooks will serve as personal journals—safe spaces for them to express their thoughts, process what they read, and reflect on their learning. The Post-it notes will support our “stop and jot” strategy, helping them stay actively engaged with texts and develop stronger reading habits. With these materials, my students will become more confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers.
