My Students
My students are from an inner city where they have experienced more than they should at their age. Many students' home lives are not enriched with love or good communication. I am hoping to change that this year. I want to create a "discussion" spot in the classroom where the students can meet and talk about issues surrounding them.
I want to create an environment of student lead discussion where they feel comfortable enough to encourage, as well as, empathize with each other.
This carpet is a comfortable area where the students, and I, can meet and hold these discussions.
My Project
My students live in the inner city where communication and discussion is lacked in a lot of their homes. The school also went through a tragic loss last year and many students are still upset.
I want a comfortable place in the classroom where classroom discussions can be held.
Through these discussions I would like to create a safe, happy environment where students can lead discussions about any concerns or successes that have happened with them. These student lead discussions will enhance each students' willingness to share. It will also help with their communication skills, self confidence, and enhance their public speaking.
Through these meetings I am hoping to create confident students who are able to gain they confidence they need in and out of the classroom.
