My Project
Not only does food insecurity translate to lower math and reading scores, it can also lead to more absences and tardiness.
In fact, food-insecure students are less likely to graduate high school.
There are also school-related emotional and social setbacks when a child doesn't have enough to eat.
Hunger affects cognitive abilities, concentration, memory, and problem-solving skills. A hungry child may find it challenging to focus in class, leading to a decline in academic achievement and potentially widening the achievement gap between low-income and more affluent students.
Although thinking hard at school isn't the same as a physical workout, it's still taxing and tiring. Studies have shown that it actually does increase your hunger. Please help us feed our students snacks during the school day. We share our food with all students in our school.
