Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The cold and flu virus is always being passed among the students. We need to try and prevent the spread of germs by keeping our classroom clean and disinfected!
Our kindergarten classroom is in a high need area with minimal funding due to low enrollment.
We have poor attendance rates due to the number of absences in our classroom. Kindergarten students, in general, miss so many hours of instruction due to illness. I want to teach my students good cleaning habits that will help prevent the spread of germs.
My Project
The cleaning products will help disinfect the tabletops, countertops, and other classroom surfaces. The Lysol spray will be used in the two classroom restrooms. The hand sanitizer will be used two times daily on student's hands. A sanitizer program used in the past showed improved attendance as a result of cleaning hands.
Teaching students how to clean and disinfect at school will teach them skills that they can use at home.
Without these products cleaning our learning environment, the germ cycle will continue!
