In my classroom everyone is a teacher, a learner, and a leader. My students come from diverse backgrounds which makes them all unique in different ways. The environment I create in my classroom is a warm and welcoming environment for each of my students to feel safe and loved. My students come from a background of hardships that they face outside of school, so I strive to make my classroom a safe space with lots of learning and engagement.

Collaboration is an important skill that every child needs.
Collaborative learning allows students to show their thinking and also see how other students show their thinking. It sparks deep conversations and allows students to fully engage with each other in a mutual space.
By providing my students with these tables, they will have the opportunity to collaborate effectively without having to raise their voices to speak across room. Students will be able to easily work together during ELA and Social Studies. They will have the opportunity to peer read, write, and analyze sources together without having to leave their seat.
