Stop Bullying In Our School With A Student Poster Campaign

My students need copies of "Bullying in Schools", poster paper, glue sticks, pencils, markers, and glitter glue pens to create our own anti-bullying poster campaign.

My Students

Did you face the prospect of bullying as a child growing up? Would things have been different if you knew you weren't the only one being bullied and the school atmosphere was one of safety? My class is going to create an anti-bullying poster campaign to increase awareness of this negative influence.

My students are amazing, lively, and creative individuals that despite their situation have a positive attitude in life.

The majority live in poverty and qualify for free lunches. They do not have the background and exposure to best serve them as they mature. Recently, I was given the incredible opportunity to take my students to see the movie BULLY. The response was overwhelming. I want to continue moving forward with the bully project. Unfortunately, without the appropriate supplies, I fear that I cannot give my students the best opportunities that they so deserve.

My Project

With the resources from this project, my students will be creating an anti-bullying poster campaign which will promote awareness of this threat to students' well being. Posters will decorate our class and halls. In order to complete this the students will first read the requested books "Bullying In Schools" . We will be discussing this as a class as well. The students will then design a poster, and using the art supplies of markers and pencils complete their message. The posterboard will serve as a backdrop for our art work. The magnets will help us display our artwork. Finally, we will then store the art materials in the bins to keep our room neat.

Bullying has become a huge issue in the school system.

Every day more bullying situations are coming out. The students need to be able to connect to others and understand that they are not alone in these situations. I have been working with my students since they saw the movie BULLY and I want to move forward in our awareness of the impact of bullying. This project will make a difference.
