This year my fourth grade students are inquisitive, driven and excited to learn. Every day I look forward to the opportunity to come to school and experience growth together. My students come from varied backgrounds, each with unique strengths and characteristics. Some are creative with artistic strengths, others love to read and research, and yet others are logical and love math. It is a wonderful mix. I am so grateful to be able to work with them directly this year.
My Project
Because my students' levels are so varied, I am trying my hardest to differentiate in math and language specifically. In order to do this effectively, I have grouped my students allowing me to work with each group individually in a corner of the classroom. I develop lessons that fit their specific needs and we work on them in smaller groups. Unfortunately, when my students come to work with me at the back table, we have no chairs to sit on. The students often have to drag their desks back to me or sit on the floor. These stools would allow my students a more structured and organized environment as we focus on their specific learning goals together.
